Just passin thru

Well, here is my second book review of sorts. Im a regular critic now.

Just passin thru , by Winton Porter. A story about the people and place at a cross roads on the Appalachian trail. In North Georgia.

Firstly I would say it is a most enjoyable read.” And In my prayer of asking to give and not receive I pray for a selflessness, Yet, I am still asking for something.

Or it boils down to this, high class or low class Dirtbags?

And so, Just passin thru strikes me as indicitave of the real life character of human nature.

One of the characters one handed “Lefty” is dismissed , looked down upon with disdain, where another character “Alpine” could do no wrong and was accepted, redeemed and forgiven in one breath, Yet, both are rascals villians and more no doubt more.

“Alpine of war mongoring fame was adoled given a second chance due to his charm, perceived wealth and mundane importance.

Whilst Dear “Lefty” was dismissed from the premisis with his one hand for being a dumpster diver and smelling bad, and perceived as having nothing to offer. Least likely hero. Perceived as worthless, and piled in a heap by a trash dumpster somewhere.

What horrid creatures we as humans can be as the real life characters we portray, and for the decisions we make.

I suspect we are all frauds of some sort or another if we sight to the core of our own souls.

I lift my glass to Lefty, who is in my opinion one of  the true leaders of the humanistic  pack, of  the human beast.

Representing the underdog that lies deep or near the surface, within us all. John G.
